As a Compliance Analyst at Privalgo, you will be responsible for ensuring full compliance of all FX trading, complex Payments Services and related activities within Privalgo B.V.
More specifically, your role will involve monitoring, advising and reporting on all aspects of compliance. With a keen eye for detail, you’ll identify, mitigate and prevent any regulatory risk that the company may be exposed to. You won’t be afraid to challenge or have a voice in pursuit of what is right for Privalgo.
We are seeking a skilled Compliance Analyst who can keep up with the evolving regulatory landscape within a dynamic and innovative FX payments company. Your role will be pivotal to developing and maintaining a robust compliance programme which feeds into our 5-year plan and can grow with us as we embark on our scale up journey.
You will work closely with our Group MLRO (based in London), the European Compliance Director and the Compliance team in both the Netherlands and the UK, to maintain Privalgo’s commitment to regulatory excellence, as a part of the second line of defence. Key Responsibilities and Objectives (6-12 months)
Compliance Monitoring
- Support the Group MLRO (based in London) to maintain an in-depth understanding of regulatory requirements, with a primary focus on the Payments Services Directive (PSD) and Dutch implementation of PSD2.
- Stay up to date with regulatory developments, assess their impact on the business, and proactively implement necessary changes.
- Ensure the Company complies with regulatory frameworks and anti-money laundering (AML) laws.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation
- Conduct compliance risk assessments and analysis to evaluate the potential impact of compliance risks on the company.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorism financing (CTF), and sanctions compliance.
- Provide recommendations for internal process improvements aligned to regulatory frameworks.
- Assist the Group MLRO in managing and resolving any compliance incidents or breaches and implementing corrective actions
Policies and Implementation
- Support the Group MLRO to develop and maintain updated compliance policies, procedures and controls, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and best practice for industry standards.
- Support the Group MLRO to ensure compliance training is delivered to all staff and stakeholders on the compliance policies and procedures.
- Advise internal stakeholders on the relevant laws, including Wwft, Sanctions Act, and other EU/Dutch regulations and any updates to these.
- Review and assess business development initiatives and strategic projects pragmatically, enabling the business to grow in a controlled environment.
Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare, review, and submit regulatory reports to the De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) and any relevant authorities in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist other compliance officers by reviewing and preparing reports, presentations and documentation.
- Maintain records of regulatory communications and filings for auditing purposes.
Audits and Investigations
- Perform regular compliance audits to ensure adherence to compliance policies and procedures.
- Support the MLRO with compliance audits, including internal and external assessments.
- Conduct gap analysis to identify potential non-compliance. Recommend and assist in implementing corrective actions.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Respond to compliance queries and requests from key stakeholders including staff, customers, regulators, and auditors.
- Respond to regulatory inquiries by providing accurate and complete documentation.
- Collaborates effectively with relevant departments to ensure alignment between business activities and compliance requirements.
You
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in law, finance, accounting or related field.
- 4+ years of compliance experience. Experience within the financial services industry is preferable.
Working knowledge of Dutch AML/CFT legislation (Wwft) and experience in dealing with DNB or other EU regulators is a plus.
- Working knowledge of FX derivatives, SMCR is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Critical thinker. Proficiency in analysing complex regulatory requirements.
- Attention to detail. Ensures accuracy to all tasks at hand.
- Problem solver. Present recommendations and solutions based on regulatory requirements, whilst maintaining a commercial mindset.
- Confident collaborator. Cooperates effectively with key stakeholders, internally and externally.
- Excellent communicator with a professional demeanour, both written and verbally.
Fluency in Dutch is not required but would be considered an advantage.
