Privalgo’s people are at the heart of everything we do. In this article, we’re shining the spotlight on Max.

Max joined Privalgo in April 2023 as a member of our front of house team. With finance blood in his veins and a British motorbike racing championship already under this belt, the sky’s the limit for Max. 

So, without further ado, let’s meet Max Smith-Halvorsen. 

What’s your role at Privalgo?

“I’m a Business Development Manager. My role is to source businesses, individuals or institutions with a requirement for FX and payments.”

“I help my clients find the right solution while building confidence and trust in working with Privalgo. I guide them through the process until they’re ready to make a trade.”

What’s your favourite thing about working at Privalgo?

“Without a doubt it’s the people. There’s an energy around the office that I don’t think you’ll find at many other businesses in our industry.”

“I love the personable way we do things; it makes a difference when you come into work.”

“You never know what’s going to happen each day, which excites me.”

How do you think Privalgo differs from others in the industry?

“100% it’s the culture.”

“There’s a balance between having the right technology and infrastructure to do a really good job – which Privalgo does for sure – and having the right people to support you.”

“That’s what really matters, and that’s why people choose us over other providers.”

Who’s your inspiration?

“It might sound like the cheesy answer, but it’s my dad. He spent over 20 years in this industry and is probably the whole reason I’m here.”

“I’ve wanted to do it since I was about four years old. I remember running around the trading floor surrounded by 100 brokers screaming and shouting like it was the Wolf of Wall Street!”

“He taught me a lot about work ethic and ultimately how to be successful.”

What’s a fun fact about you?

“I’ve ridden motorbikes since I was three. I’ve raced at British level, and I’ve won a national championship endurance race.”

“I stopped competing two years ago, had two hip operations, and now I have two new hips. I got back on the bike again for the first time last week.”

“Racing is similar to my work in that I have to think fast so I don’t miss a thing.”
